An opportunity for a tour of Thornbridge's new state of the art Riverside Brewery in Bakewell. This is a joint event with Matlock & Dales branch and Chesterfield branch. Our annual Twixtmas social, this year it is a tour of Copper Dragon Brewery followed by lunch in the on-site bistro then a crawl of the pubs in the town. The cost is £19 including travel, brewery tour and the first half pint in the brewery. Book places in advance via Richard Ryan. |

Winter Ales Festival & Manchester walkabout
We catch the 10:42 train from Sheffield to Manchester for a visit to the National Winter Ales Festival, where the Champion Winter Beer of Britain is judged from a selection of Stouts, Porters and Old Ales. There is also a good selection of other beer styles to drink here. After visiting the festival we will do a crawl of real ale pubs in Manchester's Northern Quarter, including the Marble Arch, home of Marble Brewery. |

City Beer Awards
This is the big awards night when we present the certificates to the beer of the festival winners. The event is at Thornbridge Hall's Carriage House venue and all the award winning beers will be available to drink and a buffet supper will be provided. Two coaches will operate to the event, one from Sheffield City Centre (outside the Old Queens Head), the other from the Dronfield area. Tickets for this event include travel, entry, beer and food, book via Richard Ryan. |
